Jody Stevens
Director of Baseball Operations
Pitching/Hitting Instructor

Associate Head Coach at Chaffey College, Jody has coached since 1998. A previous student/athlete at Fontana High from 1991-93 he went on to play at Cerro Coso Community College and San Diego State University. He started coaching baseball as a pitching coach for Steve Hernandez at Fontana High School, taking the Head Coach position in 2000. He also coached the Angels Elite Scout Team. From 2004-2006, Jody was the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for Chaffey College. He then went to coach for Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn at San Diego State University as an assistant.

Mike Sweeney
Head Coach Ontario HS Baseball

Mike played professionally within the Angels organization. He has been a professional scout with the Kansas City Royals since 1987. He was an assistant baseball coach at Ontario and Mater Dei High School. He has returned as the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Ontario High School. Coach Mike gives hitting instruction for baseball and softball.

Jordan Swaydan

Jordan played on scholarship at San Diego St under Hall of Fame coach Tony Gwynn. He was voted as a 3 time all conference player and was voted by baseball america as one of the top catchers in the country and the best in the MWC. He then went on to play for the Milwaukee Brewers organization.

Dennis Powell is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He started his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1983. Thereafter, he joined other organizations: Seattle Mariners, Milwaukee Brewers, Chicago White Sox and Baltimore Orioles. Dennis also played internationally in Japan, Dominican Republic, Columbia, Venezuela and Mexico before retiring in 1997. Through personalized, goal-oriented instructions, Dennis gives both beginners and seasoned athletes the opportunity to build a strong base of fundamental techniques resulting in confidence and accelerated performances.

Mike Rodriguez

Coach Rodriguez is the former Head Coach for Alta Loma and Carter High Schools.  Graduated from Chaffey High School, drafted by Kansas City Royals in 1995.  He has worked with many top players high school and pro players:

Kennard Kapono

Coach Kapono is the current Head Baseball Coach at Duarte High School.  He played and graduated from Fontana High School.  He was an assistant under Jody Stevens from 1997-2001, Steve Hernandez at Redlands East Valley 2002-2005 and Mike Spinuzzi at Kaiser 2006-2007.  He has been an evaluator for CBCA North/South Junior Series since 1997 and volunteer evaluator for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 1997-2009.  He is the current coach of ISC's 16u travel team.
